Sun Peak Metals Begins Maiden Drill Program at Halahila Gold-Copper Project in Saudi Arabia

Sun Peak Metals Corp. has commenced its maiden diamond drilling program at the Halahila Gold-Copper VMS Project, a 100%-owned exploration asset located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The planned program will cover approximately 2,500 meters and marks the company’s second drilling campaign in Saudi Arabia this year, following the completion of its maiden drill program at the Safra VMS Project.

The initial phase of drilling will focus on the Halahila Main zone, where recent exploration work has identified a 650-meter-long mineralized gossan reaching up to 30 meters in width. Surface sampling from the zone returned assays of up to 16.35 g/t gold and 180 g/t silver, highlighting the project’s precious metals potential.

Geophysical surveys have also outlined electromagnetic conductors beneath the Halahila Main Zone, providing priority targets that may indicate sulfide mineralization at depth.

Arron Albano, Exploration Manager at Sun Peak, said: Halahila has quickly emerged as one of the company’s most compelling exploration targets in Saudi Arabia. He noted that the project shows several key features commonly associated with significant VMS systems, including extensive hydrothermal alteration, a gold- and silver-bearing gossan, strong surface geochemistry, and conductive targets at depth.

Recent exploration has also identified additional mineralized gossans along a five-kilometer trend south of Halahila Main, supporting the project’s wider district-scale potential, with the mineralized system extending across a total trend length of approximately ten kilometers.

Greg Davis, President and CEO of Sun Peak, said:  The start of drilling at Halahila immediately after the completion of the Safra program reflects the company’s ability to advance multiple projects from exploration to drilling across its Saudi portfolio.

He added that Saudi Arabia’s supportive regulatory environment, strong infrastructure, and government commitment to the mining sector continue to support faster project development. With drilling underway at Halahila and Safra, core samples are currently being assayed; the company expects a steady flow of exploration updates through the remainder of 2026.

The Halahila Project is located within the Precambrian Arabian-Nubian Shield, an area considered highly prospective for precious metal-rich VMS mineralization. The current drill program is designed to test priority targets beneath Halahila Main, where geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys have identified coincident indicators of a potentially significant mineralized system.

Drilling will focus on areas where TDEM surveys have defined conductors across a 4.1-kilometer strike length, as well as beneath the 650-meter gossan, which is interpreted as a possible expression of sulfide mineralization at depth.

The 2,500-meter program will include multiple diamond drill holes designed to test the geometry, continuity, and sulfide potential of the main target areas. The drill core will be logged, sampled, and submitted to accredited laboratories for analysis, with assay results expected after the completion of the program.

Sun Peak Metals said results from both the recently completed Safra drill program and the ongoing Halahila campaign are expected to provide a consistent flow of exploration news throughout the rest of 2026.

In Saudi Arabia, Sun Peak holds 13 exploration licenses covering approximately 1,072 square kilometers along established VMS and gold trends, with an additional 200 square kilometers under application.

The company is focused on district-scale VMS base metal and gold projects in Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. Its Ethiopian portfolio includes the Shire Project, which comprises six exploration licenses covering approximately 1,450 square kilometers within the Arabian-Nubian Shield, a highly prospective geological belt that hosts major deposits, including the Bisha Mine and the Asmara Projects in Eritrea.

About the Halahila Project

The Halahila Project is one of Sun Peak Metals’ wholly owned exploration assets in Saudi Arabia. It forms part of the company’s expanding portfolio of VMS and precious metals projects within the Arabian-Nubian Shield.

Exploration work completed to date has identified extensive hydrothermal alteration, multiple gossan occurrences, and precious metal enrichment, as well as geophysical targets consistent with potential VMS-style mineralization.
